First Steps to a New Work-Life Balance – By Rebecca Thompson
Everyone has a sense that their life could be better. It’s what drives our ambition, creativity, and innovation. But even when we follow that inner drive to grow and improve, it can be hard to get started.
Maybe if feels like the distance between who you are and who you want to be is too wide — an impassable chasm.
Or maybe you’re not sure what exactly would be better for you, in your own life, on your own terms.
First, be honest and specific about what you want. What would be your ideal new job? How much time would you like to spend with your kids or other commitments?
Second, measure the gap. How do you spend your time? How much money do you need to make ends meet? What skills or credentials are needed in your dream job?
Third, break it up into manageable steps. Set up a call with Talent Force to find out about flexible work options. Set up coffee dates with former coworkers. Update your linked profile. Renew your credentials. Book a family holiday.
Before you know it, you’ll have momentum.
